Hello and welcome to my site. With over 25 years experience in Pottery I offer unique, hand made pots, and pottery, including Chinese Copper Reds, delicate Crystalline Glazes, and Japanese style Raku Ware, and create work for clients all over the world.

When it comes to fine ceramics, I try to create the finest pots in a variety of shapes and sizes, which includes bowls bottles and teapots. Based in Orkney with a well equipped workshop with extensive e views I ship worldwide and very occasionally take commissions, as all of the techniques in the ware that I make are unique, no two pieces are ever the same.

All my pottery is handmade in my studio pottery on the small Island of Shapinsay Orkney, And here within the grounds of Elwick Mill, we dig and process some of our own earthenware clay, a rich firing terracotta which is used for making local garden ware, and some large sculptural pieces.

Pottery Classes

I also run popular pottery classes-workshops covering the basics of potting including wheel work, and hand building at my Elwick Mill Ceramics Studio. One of the kilns uses a traditional wood firing technique and the construction and firing is covered in some of the pottery classes-workshops. I also fire with gas for some raku ware, and I am in the process of building a new wood and gas fired kiln for my Chinese Copper Reds and Oriental Glazes.
